Text Neck Syndrome

Cell phones are causing all types of problems….no one communicates in person anymore, and now we are seeing an entire population with TEXT NECK SYNDROME.
Text neck is the term used to describe the injuries and pain sustained from looking down at wireless devices for too long. The symptoms associated with text neck are:
•chronic headaches
•upper back pain
•shoulder pain
•neck pain
•increased curvature of the spine.
This is especially concerning for kids ages 5 years to 16 years.
If you are looking down a lot during the day, I would highly suggest that you hold your phone up directly across from your face and avoid looking/bending down.
We all know that I do believe these instruments need to be turned off when you get home, so that your body has an opportunity to rest. This is one more reason to do just that.
